Jihyung Lee is a Professor of Economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has been developing new econometric methodologies designed to address nonstandard features commonly found in economic and econometric models. His research contributes to answering important economic questions that cannot be adequately addressed using conventional models or methods. Specifically, he proposes novel econometric techniques for high-dimensional settings involving both cross-sectional and time series data, and develops empirical methods suited to nonstandard environments, particularly those focused on uncovering structural distributional relationships between economic variables. In future research, he plans to apply rapidly evolving AI tools to address important economic questions.
