Ismini Lourentzou

Ismini Lourentzou is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she leads the Perception and LANguage (PLAN) Lab. Her work spans multimodal machine learning, vision-language models, learning with limited supervision, and human-centric embodied AI. She has served on the NeurIPS'23 and NeurIPS'22 organizing committees and in editorial and area chair roles for PLOS Digital Health, ECCV, ACL, IEEE BigData and MICCAI. Lourentzou holds a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Before joining iSchool, she was an Assistant Professor at Virginia Tech, Computer Science Department and core faculty member of the Sanghani Center for Artificial Intelligence and Discovery Analytics, where she was received a College of Engineering 2023 Dean's Award as Outstanding New Assistant Professor.
